The BBHV is the third highest volume unit of the BlackBox series. It is tested to be easy to use and effective to eliminate contaminants. This is a solution to have clean water on a larger scale for the most demanding circumstances. The BBHV is cost effective in providing clean and safe water for a few cents a day during the life of the unit.

The BBHV

Key Features:

  • Exceeds EPA standards for potable water
  • Made for off-grid battery operation
  • Processes 38 liters (10 Gallons) per minute
  • Includes automated filter maintenance
  • Provides a 7-10 year life (pending source water turbidity)

Uses
The BBHV functions exceptionally well for schools, clinics, churches, and community centers where people gather on a daily basis.  It provides a viable business for someone desiring to bottle and sell safe drinking water.  The system works well to filter most surface water systems (additional pre-filters may be required).

Water Purification
This filter system utilizes two 0.1 micron hollow-fiber membrane filters which remove all bacteria, protozoa, and cysts to 99.99999% (7 Log) and 99.1% (2 Log) of viruses.  This point-of-use, clean water solution has a higher “log” rate than the EPA standard (6 Log) for potable water.

Volume

The BBHV operates whenever water is running through its filters. It has a maximum flow rate of 38 LPM (10 GPM). It can operate 24/7, but during any given 8 hour period, it can produce 18,000+ liters (4700+ gallons) of clean water. This 8-hour period volume will support not only a school of 1,000 children with 2 liters of water per day, but also an additional 3,000 homes with 18 Liters per day (5 GPD).

Power
The backflush system is powered by a 12V battery which can be charged with either the included solar panel or the 1 Amp wall charger.

Usability
Install the mounting bracket using the screws provided; hang the unit on the bracket; connect your incoming water line, the clean and dirty water discharge lines; then filter your water.

The BBHV can be flown in its shipping box as luggage. To transport, the BBHV can be shipped or flown as luggage.
Weight: 15kg (33 lbs) / Dimensions: W 49cm (19″) x H 74cm (29″) x D 16 cm (6″)

 Maintenance
Hollow-fiber membrane filters require regular backflushing to stay in good working order.  The BBHV automatically backflushes each filter with clean water from the other filter at preset intervals.  This ensures optimal system performance for years to come and clean, safe drinking water 100% of the time.

The LED control panel continuously shows the status of the system so you always know if a backflush cycle is underway, and that the system is functioning normally.

The BlackBox Series filter systems do not remove dissolved solids, including chemicals and heavy metals. Using our recommended (but optional) activated carbon inline pre-filter helps significantly to reduce the dissolved solids and chemicals extending the life of the 0.1 filter set.
